What our Avreichim have to say
The two precious years I spent learning in Kollel Menachem were foundational as preparation for entering Rabbonus. The opportunity Kollel Manachem provided me in readying myself to become a pulpit rabbi was
Rabbi Yaakov Glasman, Senior Rabbi St Kilda Hebrew Congregation, Melbourne
The Kollel offered me a no pressure supportive atmosphere where I was able to learn Torah and adjust to being newly married at my own pace. It also gave me opportunities to pursue my interests in the area of chinuch.
Rabbi Naftoli Abenaim, Mechanech at Yeshivah College, Melbourne
Having studing in Kollel Menachem for only a year, the tremendous amount of learning, skills, and professional development that I received, has enabled me to pursue positions of leadership in the wider community. The warmth and friendliness of the Yungeleit and Rabbonim, together with the Melbourne kehillah has touched me deeply and to whom I am extremely grateful.
Rabbi Benji Simons (5772), Mechanech at Kesser Torah College, Sydney
I was privileged to be a member of Melbourne’s Kollel Menachem for the past two years. As per the Rebbe’s instruction of immersing oneself in Torah learning following marriage in order to build the foundation for life, Kollel created that oasis of Torah.
The full schedule of learning, connecting with like-minded Kollel members, the opportunity for personal growth, high- level shiurim and involvement with the community all contributed to my wonderful experience here.
Kollel Menachem is unique in that while devoting oneself to full time Torah learning, Kollel members have the opportunity to learn b’chavrusa with community members in the evening, present shiurim and lectures to all levels of learners, participate in programs and events, establish personal connections with many people and make a real contribution to the Melbourne Jewish community.
This all-round experience that the Kollel has to offer provided me with a real head- start for a life on shlichus.
I will treasure the life-long friendships I have made, the precious time of Torah learning and the skills I have gained.
Thank you, Kollel Menachem for all this and more.
Rabbi Levi Gourarie (5776), Shliach Torah, Sydney
